Is it Hard to Take Off a Car From My Oregon Auto Insurance Policy?

Deleting or removing a car from your car insurance is as simple as signing a piece of paper that authorizes us to remove the vehicle from your policy and emailing or faxing it to us. Unfortunately, just a phone call isn't good enough. We need proof on file that you did, in fact, request that the car be deleted.

What Steps Should I Take if I Have an Accident?

Q: What should I do if I have just had an auto accident?

A: Make sure you and your passengers are okay. Dial 911 on your cell phone or get someone else at the scene to call if you or a passenger is experiencing a medical emergency. Once you are sure you are not hurt, warn oncoming traffic by activating your hazard lights or by carefully exiting your car and setting flares if you have them.

Notify the police if the other parties are not cooperative. Oregon law requires that each party remain at the scene until information has been exchanged.

How Do I Make a Payment on My Auto Insurance?

Our office opens at 9:00 a.m. and closes at 5:00 p.m. during the work week. For some clients, it is not convenient to make payments. If you don’t want to set your policy up on auto-pay, we encourage you to pay directly to the insurance company on their website, through the phone app, or by mail.

Quoting

Often, the quote is the beginning of a professional relationship with an independent insurance agent. It sets the tone for the lifecycle of your account with us, which we hope will be a long and successful experience. Together, we will gather the required data to rate and insure the things you need to be covered.

Binder

After negotiating through the maze of insurance options for your car, home, or business and agreeing on a price, we will serve as the portal through which you apply and pay the down payment. We call this process binding. The proof of insurance we issue you as a receipt or certificate is called the binder. This paper or electronic document will state the time and date obligating the insurance company to begin coverage of the property or the liability you might incur from your personal or business activities.

Policy Changes

You survived the quoting and binding process. Now that you are deep into the policy period, you need to make a change. This amendment is called an endorsement. You do not have to cancel the policy and start over. The insurance company allows you to modify the policy details, including people, drivers, coverages, property, discounts, and liability limits, at any time during the contract, making it easier for both parties. In a way, we are starting the quoting process all over again. Making small changes is usually much easier than creating the policy from scratch.

Claims

Unfortunate things happen. Sometimes, insurance will cover them. If you believe an event has occurred that might trigger a claim, such as an accident or fire, on a policy you have purchased through us, please call or text us. We can help you determine if your policy will likely cover the event. Then, we can put you in contact with the correct department at the insurance carrier so you can begin the claims reporting process.

Certificates

A company or government agency often requires a certificate of insurance to guarantee that an insured will be covered while operating on their premises or conducting the contracted activity. In most cases, we can provide the certificate; otherwise, we will request that the insurance company issue it. Depending on the insurance or the type of certificate requested, we can print and deliver it in minutes. However, those requiring company-issued forms may take hours or even days. Email or call with the details that we must include in the certificate.
